Dryers use a lot of energy to dry your clothes, either using gas or electricity. Gas is a fossil fuel that contributes to global warming. Traditional electric dryers use a lot of electricity. Instead, a heat pump dryer uses one third of the power! The other benefit of these is that they are ventless, which means you can use it anywhere and not worry about having to install a vent to the outside. That's another bonus as a traditional dryer with a vent is actually blowing air from your house outside, further contributing to high energy bills. Options include Black and Decker, Samsung and Midea.
There are also new high performance washer dryer combos on the market powered by a heat pump.
